#9 Moth Interpretations For Halloween

Last Halloween, I created my own DIY moth costume inspired by the Rosy Maple Moth. I used clothes I already had, a few thrift store finds, and some handmade details to bring the idea to life. The costume turned out so fun that I decided to create another moth-inspired look this year.
For this Halloween, I am taking inspiration from the Chlorhoda metamelaena moth, a beautiful member of the tiger moth family. I found inspiration from amazing nature photography online and loved the unique colors and patterns of this moth.
I have shared photos from my previous costume and a small preview of my new design. I am still working on some details, such as adding yellow accents with a scarf or belt, creating wing patterns, and adding soft textures to match the look of a real moth.
I also plan to update my Halloween makeup and hairstyle to match the colors and details of the costume. Since the weather in Minnesota can be cold during Halloween, I want to make the outfit comfortable while still keeping the moth-inspired design.
Creating this costume is a fun mix of fashion, nature, and art. I enjoy studying the colors, patterns, and textures of moths and finding creative ways to turn them into a unique Halloween costume idea.

#32 My Best Work

I have created many fun Halloween costumes over the years, but this one is still one of my favorites. In 2014, I made a DIY shrimp tempura sushi roll costume, and it became a big hit.
I used simple craft materials like cardboard, painted foam, packing peanuts for the rice, pom poms for the toppings, and felt for the seaweed wrap. I also made a wasabi and ginger headband to complete the sushi look.
One thing that made this costume extra special was using biodegradable packing peanuts. I even walked around San Francisco wearing the full sushi costume. The weather made the โriceโ change a little, but it only made the costume more fun and memorable.
This DIY Halloween costume idea is still one of my favorites because it was creative, affordable, eco-friendly, and completely unique. ๐ฃ๐

I have made many fun Halloween costumes, but this one is still one of my favorites. In 2014, I created a DIY shrimp tempura sushi roll costume, and people loved it.
I used simple craft supplies to make it, including cardboard, painted foam for the shrimp, cucumber, crab, and avocado pieces, packing peanuts for the rice, pom poms for the toppings, and felt for the seaweed wrap.
To make the costume even more fun, I added a wasabi and ginger headband. I also used biodegradable packing peanuts, making the costume a more eco-friendly Halloween idea.
I wore the full sushi costume while walking around San Francisco. The weather changed the rice details a little, but it made the costume even more memorable and funny.
This DIY Halloween costume is still special to me because it was creative, unique, budget-friendly, and a fun example of handmade costume design. ๐ฃ๐
